BATS - BAS member Veda DePaepe is working with the Pa. Game Commission to study bats. She is looking for large bat colonies and needs some help in locating them. She says "I would say over 20 bats that use a location consistently and create a pile of guano underneath. I am especially interested in maternity colonies that use very warm locations." If you can help with this please call Veda at (724) 598-0455. This must be done by the end of July.
DISCOVERY TRUNK The Bartramian Audubon Society is excited to announce a new service. With grant money from the National Audubon Society and Audubon PA we have developed a Discovery Trunk called “Our Feathered Friend Field Kit.” The kit includes a wide variety of materials that the educator can use to teach students about birds and their environment in our area. The trunk is for grade levels 3 through 6, and can be used by home school groups, 4H groups, and Scouts. For more information about this fun learning tool, contact us by e-mail at www.bartramianaudubon.org or contact our Education Chair Elizabeth Wilson at 724-924-2045 or ewtracker@zoominternet.net. -
